About the Activist Skillshare
The Adelaide Activist Skillshare weekend is on again in 2013!
It is an opportunity to bring Adelaide's environmental and social justice activists together in one place to share campaigning skills over a weekend of empowerment and movement building.
The skillshare will provide participants with the essential skills needed to be an effective activist. It will help our community expand and advance one another's knowledge, and help you build confidence as an activist in a supportive environment.
The theme of the 2013 Adelaide Activist Skillshare is
'Action Towards Transition'.
It will be held at Aldinga Beach Holiday Park in their Mini-Camp venue.
The skillshare will go from 4pm on Friday afternoon - 22nd March until 4pm on Sunday - 24th March 2013.
The official workshop program has now been released.
Training areas include:
There will be group team-building activities, film screenings, bush walks, snorkeling and the beach at our doorstep
- and of course an incredible mix of amazing people to learn with.
Friday night will be a relaxed 'BBQ icebreaker evening' to warm into the venue, relax and mingle with one another.
Accommodation will be provided in comfortable dorm-style bunk rooms
(you must bring your own bedding - sleeping bag, pillow, sheets).
Food will be provided as wholesome vegetarian meals - BYO treats!
Costs
The ‘real cost’ per person to hold the skillshare is $115 each for the entire weekend including accommodation, meals and workshops.
We have enlisted the help of sponsor organisations to reduce the cost for participants. If you are with one of the sponsor organisation (SASEN, TWS, Greenpeace) you are eligible for a subsidy. Subsidised participants are asked to contribute $20 a day for concession or $40 a day for those who are waged to assist in covering the costs. The entire weekend subsidised cost is $40 for concession and $80 for waged.
If you are financially strapped - fee waivers may be possible upon application - please contact us.
This skillshare is NOT just for the sponsor organisations participants, it is for everyone. General cost is $100 per person.
Workshop faciliators are entitled to a reduced concession rate of $40 if wishing to stay and participate for the entire skillshare. This will help contribute to coving meals and accomodation costs.

Any donations to cover costs are graciously appreciated.
