We are excited to announce the keynote speaker for this year's skillshare: prominent social and environmental activist, educator, accademic and writer, Aidan Ricketts.

Check out his website.

Aidan is respected for his extensive experience in activism for almost 30 years, including his current involvement in the campaign against coal seam gas mining in northern NSW.

Aidan  has a passion for building capacity for community resistance: providing consultancies to assist with strategic planning of campaigns, as well as activist education through workshops-- now including the Adelaide Activist Skillshare!

He has also established a groundbreaking university-accredited activism training course at the Southern Cross University in NSW, where he lectures in the School of Law and Justice.

Aidan's ongoing practical work ensures he remains current with trends in campaigning and activism.

This lifetime of dedication to social change has culminated in his recently published The Activists Handbook: A Step By Step Guide to Participatory Democracy -- a must read for all activists!

Aidan is certain to present an insightful and empowering session at this year's Activist Skillshare. Register now so as not to miss it! We have received many other impressive workshop proposals from other experts in the field, with the official program to be released soon.

Check out the poster for this year's Activist Skillshare!

Thanks to Flik for her awesome creative design talents. The poster features the theme 'Action Towards Transition', as well as symbolising the growth of knowledge from participating in the skillshare. Please share, including with any new and up-and-coming activists. Help expand our community.

We have also launched the facebook event page, join it and invite others.

Participant registrations open this Wednesday, February 20th. There is limited capacity so sign up early to ensure your spot.

For more information about the skillshare, have a look around this website. The official workshop program will be released early March.

The 2013 skillshare is developing well. A working group has formed and is organising all the logistics to ensure this year's event is one of the best yet.

Participant registations will open later this month, and there are only a few days left to submit workshop proposals.  So far we have seen receiving some incredible workshop ideas. We will be releasing the program in early March.

The Flinders University Wilderness Club is keen to run  morning and evening snorkeling adventures into the Aldinga Reef Marine Sanctuary, which is a short walk from the camp venue.

Greenpeace Australia is the latest organisation to give their support as a sponsor for the Activist Skillshare.  This means Greenpeace members and volunteers are entitled to a reduced registration fee, as well as ASEN and TWS members and volunteers.

The 2013 Adelaide Activist Skillshare will be on the weekend Friday 22nd March to Sunday 24th March at the Aldinga Beach Mini-Camp.

We are busy preparing the logistics and the program for the skillshare - so stay updated here as more information is released.
